Rittenhouse

Rittenhouse is an Australian high end casual label, created by fashion designer Sally McDonald and graphic artist Micah Hamdorf. The label takes it's name from the park in Philadelphia 'Rittenhouse Square' where the couple lived at the time of the labels conception. The signature of Rittenhouse is 'quiet detailing' combined with sophisticated graphics, beautiful fabrics and a strong focus on quality Australian manufacturing. The collection sits somewhere between 'boutique' and 'street' and targets a specific customer who understands and follows both high fashion and street wear, a customer who appreciates fine quality and is not fad driven. The concepts that influence the designs are centered around the mixing and blending of ideas that might not normally be found together to create a unique and beautiful look. This concept is present in the way the placement and yardage prints are chosen and coloured as well as they way silhouettes, fabrics and details are put together. Still a young label, autumn winter 05/06 will mark the third season for Rittenhouse. The progression of the collections themselves combined with the great interest in the label indicates a strong future for this new Australian brand.
