Reiss Radvanyi

Born in Hungary, immigrating to Australia in 1990,.Notably competing in surfing Air show series in 2001 this combined with a brief stint at fashion school led him to a quick career rise through Australia’s leading surf, street and skate companies. Taking him to America & infamously being fired in NY for buying dresses* on the company credit card, a premature push to create his brand Reiss Radvanyi (Radvanyi taken from his gypsy mothers maiden name) Presenting his first collection to Fat 4 (Melbourne's most successful independent fashion retailer) in 2007 they placed there largest order to date for a new designer with this encouragement he set up in-house manufacturing/ in Fitzroy, the adeptly grunge end of the city. Often fabrics are hand- painted, knitted, or dyed, making his clothing instantly recognisable and our fast becoming the embodiment of the Australian aesthetic. Reiss Radvanyi is neither street fashion or high fashion his zipper less silk dresses are where this distinction is at its murkiest….
